If a character falls in love with a rival, they are in for a hard time.
When the two meet, if they have a tense scene that does not escalate or they resolve their rivalry, the character may roll on the love reaction table above (p.80) at a -1 modifier to the roll. Love being reciprocated or the character confessing being turned down gently ends the rivalry, and both characters receive +1 XP.A despondent character is in the depths of emotional distress. They are likely to sit around, mope and generally be completely miserable.
